Dave Murphy & Associates (DMA) is an industry leader in streetscape lighting and hybrid infrastructure solutions for public and commercial spaces. The company is the bridge between global manufacturers and distributors of outdoor lighting and structure products and municipalities, utilities, and transportation agencies.

The firm, which is over 50 years old, needed fresh branding as it was opening new territories and introducing new solutions to the market. After a comprehensive branding workshop with the DMA team, Rapunzel Creative developed a new logo and tagline to reflect the company’s updated mission and deliverables with a contemporary look and refreshed color palette.

It was important to convey DMA’s roots in outdoor lighting and its relationship to power companies, iterated by the light burst and with colors that reflect energy. Thinking about the company’s expansion into smart technology and adapting to new and emerging technologies in the public space, the designer completed the circle by literally “connecting the dots” – reflecting the integration of new with existing products it specifies, with the dots going from big to small to show that movement.
